Wisconsin Health Care Association, Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living: Applauds bipartisan agreement for budget investments in long-term care

MADISON – The Wisconsin Health Care Association/Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living (WHCA/WiCAL) issued the following statement following the passage of the 2025-27 Biennial Budget Bill:

The 2025-27 Biennial Budget bill includes crucial funding to maintain access to long-term care services across the State of Wisconsin, specifically funding to support reimbursement rates for nursing homes and providing critical funding to maintain the Family Care minimum fee schedule. In addition, it provides $2 million in new funding for the WisCaregiver Careers program to help long-term care providers train and retain Certified Nurse Aides.

“Our elected officials have come together recognizing how important our nursing homes and assisted living providers are to communities across the state. These critical investments help maintain access to quality care for families and communities in all corners of Wisconsin. We look forward to continue working with the Legislature and the Evers Administration to improve the access to care and quality of long-term care in the state.”

Rick Abrams, CEO, WHCA/WiCAL

WHCA/WiCAL thanks Governor Evers’ commitment to long-term care in including funding in his budget proposal, members of the Joint Committee on Finance for including these investments, and the Legislature for the timely passage of the 2025-27 Biennial Budget which supports access to long-term care in Wisconsin.
