WEST ALLIS, WIS. – Dr. Rachel Steele, a general dentist who lives in Tomah and practices at Black River Falls Community Dental, was sworn in as president of the 3,000-member Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) at the organization’s 155th House of Delegates held in Appleton on Nov. 14 and 15. She will serve as president until November 2026.
Dr. Steele, a graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry (MUSoD), has been an active WDA member since 2004. She is a former WDA trustee and former WDA Foundation board member and also served in several leadership roles for her local dental society, including president from 2011-2013. Dr. Steele is a member of the International College of Dentists (ICD), the American College of Dentists (ACD) and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Steele is an active volunteer in her community and with charitable dental programs such as the WDA and WDA Foundation Mission of Mercy.
Other 2025-26 WDA leaders sworn in at the WDA House include:
- President-Elect Dr. Cheska Avery-Stafford, a general dentist in Milwaukee. Dr. Avery-Stafford most recently served as WDA vice president. She is a past WDA trustee and held several leadership roles in the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association, including president from 2016-17. She serves on the advisory committee for the MUSoD-Pierre Fauchard Academy-WDA Mentor Program and was previously appointed to the American Dental Association’s (ADA) Council on Dental Education and Licensure. She is a graduate of MUSoD and fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the ACD.
- Vice President Dr. Eric Childs, a general dentist in Manitowoc. Dr. Childs has been an active WDA member since 2014 and most recently served on the WDA Board of Trustees. Dr. Childs previously chaired the WDA Membership Development Committee and served on the ADA New Dentist Committee. He is a current representative on the ADA Council on Membership. Dr. Childs, a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and the WDA Leadership Academy, also held many leadership roles in the Michigan Dental Association.
- Immediate Past President Dr. Tom Reid, a general dentist in Madison. Dr. Reid most recently served as WDA president. Prior to that, he was vice president and served on the WDA Board of Trustees from 2015-22. He has been a board member for the WDA Insurance & Services Corp since 2018. Dr. Reid held several leadership roles in the Greater Dane Dental Society, including president from 2013-14. He is a MUSoD graduate and fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the ICD and ACD.
- Treasurer Dr. John R. Moser, a general dentist in Milwaukee. Dr. Moser has been the treasurer of the WDA since 2007. Previously, he had been a trustee from 2002-2007 and received the WDA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Dr. Moser has held several leadership roles in the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association, including president from 2001-2002. He is a MUSoD graduate and a member of the ACD, ICD, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
- Editor Dr. Ryan Dodge, a general dentist in Hartford. Dr. Dodge has been the WDA editor since 2022. He served as a WDA trustee while a student at MUSoD and served on the Membership Development Committee. He received a WDA Dental Excellence Award for New Dentist Leadership in 2024 and a Pyramid of Pride award for Communications in 2022. Dr. Dodge has held several leadership roles in the Washington-Ozaukee Dental Society since 2021 and currently serves as president. He is very involved in his community and charitable dental events, including the WDA and WDA Foundation Mission of Mercy.
- Speaker of the House Dr. Jeremy Hoffman, a general dentist in Weston. Dr. Hoffman served on the WDA Board of Trustees from 2021-2024 and has served on several WDA committees since 2009. He has held several leadership positions in the Central Wisconsin Dental Society, including president from 2010-2021. Dr. Hoffman is a MUSoD graduate and is a fellow of the ACD.
