UW alumni to be recognized for exemplifying the Wisconsin Idea.
MADISON, WI (August 10, 2025) — The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 alumni awards, recognizing outstanding graduates and supporters of the University of Wisconsin–Madison for their professional achievements, service, and support of the university.
“These individuals are a living reminder of the tremendous impact that UW–Madison has on the world through the achievements and contributions of alumni,” said Sarah Schutt, chief alumni officer and executive director of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
All the honorees are alumni and supporters who exemplify the Wisconsin Idea, enhancing the positive influence of the university on campus as well as beyond its borders.
Distinguished Service Award
Presented by the Office of the Chancellor with support from the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association, this award honors individuals or couples whose extraordinary contributions have significantly advanced UW–Madison’s mission.
Distinguished Alumni Award
Since 1936, the Wisconsin Alumni Association has been presenting the award to the most prestigious graduates of UW–Madison for their professional achievements, contributions to society, and support of the university.
Luminary Award
This award celebrates alumni who inspire through leadership, innovation, and service. Luminary recipients exemplify the Wisconsin Idea through exceptional achievement in their fields and communities.
Forward Award
Recognizing rising stars, the Forward Award honors young alumni who demonstrate early-career excellence and a commitment to service, discovery, and progress.
