Kirk Yauchler – WCHSA Service Award
Kirk Yauchler, Clinical Services Manager, was honored with the WCHSA Service Award for his leadership and commitment to enhancing mental health services. Throughout his tenure, he has led initiatives that improved county mental health resources, including developing a state-first embedded crisis intervention program within the 911 Communications Center and a Regional Crisis Stabilization Facility. Kirk’s efforts resulted in a transformed budget surplus, expanding service revenues by over $3.2 million.
Shirley Peterson – County Human Service Staff Award
Shirley Peterson, Human Services Supervisor at the Aging and Disability Resource Center, received the County Human Service Staff Award for over three decades of exemplary service. Her dedication to improving the quality of life for seniors and adults with disabilities is demonstrated by her innovative leadership in programs, such as the Caregiver Connectedness Coalition, and strategic collaborations with law enforcement to streamline service delivery.
Larry Nelson – Human Service Board Member Award
Larry Nelson, County Board Supervisor – District 18, was recognized for his services as a Human Service Board Member. He has been a pivotal community figure through his roles in various committees and initiatives, such as the Waukesha County Heroin Task Force. His advocacy for critical programs like Friendships Unlimited and Spring City Corner Clubhouse has significantly impacted the community.
