UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education: Offers new in-person learning opportunities for Waukesha-area adults

MILWAUKEE, WI, August 7, 2025 – The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) School of Continuing Education is excited to offer professional development and personal enrichment programs in Waukesha County. The School of Continuing Education is the largest provider of professional development in southeastern Wisconsin, serving more than 15,000 participants each year and offering over 1,000 courses.  

For Adults Looking for Professional Development 

“We’re excited to partner with the Waukesha County Business Alliance and offer in-person professional development courses at their Waukesha location,” says Nancy L. Nelson, Ph.D., MBA, OT, CHT, Provost’s Deputy for Continuing Education, UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education. “While many of our courses are offered live online, hands-on learning with a live instructor is often preferred. And, we’re thrilled to offer some of our most popular programming in Waukesha County, making it convenient for participants who don’t live in the metro-Milwaukee area.” 

This fall, UWM is offering three in-person courses in Waukesha:

Many courses are also available in-person in downtown Milwaukee.

For Adults Who Love Learning and Travel: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute 

UW-Milwaukee’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a membership-based program that provides adults access to affordable classes, discussion groups and travel opportunities. Course topics include current events, literature, music, history and more, while travel ranges from local, southeastern Wisconsin-area day trips to international excursions such as exploring Cuba, Greece and Iceland. 

“We’re excited to expand our program west into Waukesha County,” says Sarah Grammer, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Director. “Earlier this year, we hired a new team member who resides in Waukesha and has a lot of great ideas for programming. This fall we’ll enjoy a special tour of Ten Chimneys, host a Waukesha Reads book discussion and more!”  Waukesha residents are encouraged to join.
