Serving Older Adults Will Use Spectrum’s Support to Provide Tech Support to Milwaukee Seniors
MILWAUKEE, WI – February 7, 2025 – Spectrum today announced Serving Older Adults of Southeast Wisconsin has received a $15,000 Spectrum Digital Education grant for its Tech Connect program. Spectrum Digital Education awarded $1.3 million to 66 organizations in 2024.
Since launching in 2017, Spectrum Digital Education has committed more than $10 million to nonprofits focused on improving digital literacy, workforce development and educational access in unserved and undeserved communities across Charter’s 41-state service area.
“Connectivity is the foundation for meaningful learning, professional growth and human connection, and helps to build strong, thriving communities,” said Paul Navin, Area Vice President for Spectrum’s Wisconsin and Minnesota service areas. “Spectrum Digital Education supports programs that empower community members to enhance their lives with connectivity, from providing digital literacy training to seniors to connecting students with important resources and tools for their education.”
Serving Older Adults’ Tech Connect program provides access to technology training and devices for older adults ages 50 and above, particularly those who are marginalized, isolated, or financially limited. It strives to make technology more accessible and easier to navigate for seniors through one-on-one training sessions and small-group technology classes. Graduates of the small group classes receive refurbished laptops. support and technical education to older adults.

Digital literacy is not a one-time achievement, it’s an ongoing process, and sustained funding is crucial to ensuring older adults remain connected in an ever-changing digital landscape.”
This latest grant is the second Spectrum Digital Education Grant awarded to Serving Older Adults of Southeast Wisconsin, bringing Spectrum’s total support for the organization to $50,000 over the past two years.
Celebrating the 66 Spectrum Digital Education Champions
Through direct support of nonprofit partners across Spectrum’s service area, Spectrum Digital Education has helped distribute over 18,500 laptops and sponsor more than 40,000 digital education classes, benefiting over 163,000 community members since 2017. Serving Older Adults is one of 66 nonprofit organizations awarded a 2024 Spectrum Digital Education grant.
