Frankfurt, Germany – NANDA International, the world’s leading provider of evidence-based, standardized nursing diagnostic terminology, has announced the development of a breakthrough singular, integrated knowledge base: NANDA 360.
Built on a secure, web-based platform, NANDA 360 guides nurses, step by step, through evidence-based options for patient care, incorporating diagnosis, patient outcomes/goals and nursing actions. Nurses decide which care to apply based on the context and patient’s condition, resulting in a care plan that is tailored versus standardized. Meanwhile, the platform provides the data in a structured format so it can be leveraged to drive ongoing nursing research, innovation, curricular approaches and policy improvement.
By reducing the gaps between nursing practice, education and research, NANDA 360 will revolutionize nursing education and research. For the first time, nurse educators will have the opportunity to teach from one unified evidence-based framework that follows learners from classroom to bedside, ensuring consistent, practice-ready education. To bridge the transition to this new clinical reasoning framework, the NANDA 360 Institute will provide educators ready-to-use modules, resources and tools, such as train-the-trainer programs, seminars, audio and visuals, real-world applications and multilingual materials.
By delivering a standardized and structured framework for its data, NANDA 360 makes it easier for researchers to extract coded data that supports longitudinal studies, predictive analytics and global collaboration across research studies. The platform’s adaptability ensures that nursing science evolves alongside new evidence and technology.
“Our goal with NANDA 360 is to integrate all aspects of the nursing process into a patient-centric, nursing care delivery model, guided by evidence and informed by the nurse-patient relationship. For the first time ever, nurses, educators and researchers will have a unified framework to leverage at the bedside, in the classroom and for academic research. This technology makes it possible to practice, teach and study nursing with unprecedented clarity and consistency. As we approach the final stages of development, NANDA 360 promises to strengthen academic excellence and elevate nursing’s voice in healthcare innovation,” said the CEO of NANDA International, T. Heather Herdman, Ph.D., RN, FNI, FAAN.
Development of NANDA 360 includes a clinical reasoning framework built on a systematic sequence of questions that support diagnostic accuracy and one classification that incorporates diagnosis, outcome and intervention. Final mapping of diagnostic indicators to patient outcomes, goals and nursing actions is underway. NANDA International’s goal is to launch the product with a limited number of pilot partners in early 2026 and plans a full commercial launch in early 2027.
