Medical College of Wisconsin: Consortium on Public and Community Health appoints new member

Milwaukee, Wis. – August 12, 2025 – The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Consortium on Public and Community Health (the Consortium) has appointed Jewish Family Services, Inc., (JFS) Interim President/CEO and Vice President of Housing and Residential Services Daniel Fleischman as the newest representative of the nine-member board that provides oversight of the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment’s (AHW’s) investments and support of community and public health partnerships and projects.

In his role at JFS, Fleischman oversees a portfolio of hundreds of units of affordable and supportive housing in the greater Milwaukee area that include services for people who have experienced or are at-risk of homelessness and residents with disabilities and mental health challenges. Dan has developed a network of local and national relationships within government and with not-for-profit and for-profit entities focused on housing for at-risk populations.

Fleischman’s nomination to the Consortium was approved by the MCW Board of Trustees on April 25, 2025, with his term effective on July 1.

“With Dan’s appointment to the MCW Consortium on Public and Community Health, we gain critical insights into a key social determinant of health—stable and supportive housing,” said Consortium Chair Rebecca Rice. “Dan’s knowledge of the network of programs, services, subsidies, and financial instruments that aid the development and operation of affordable and supportive housing will help the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment identify and capitalize upon new opportunities to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations across the state.”
