Share in delights with the Swedish community; all are invited to celebrate Swedish New Year with an immersive experience, a countdown at 5pm, and enough time for a solid 7 to 9 hours of sleep.
MILWAUKEE (DECEMBER 8TH, 2025) – After a successful, well regarded event last year, Lakefront Brewery is excited to welcome back the Swedish community, celebrating New Year’s at 5pm with fresh Swedish-inspired eats, modern and classic dance hits, and more!
“We learned last year that there’s an awesome energetic Swedish community in the area so we did extensive research to ensure the menu is as authentic as possible”, says Kristin Hueneke, Lakefront’s Executive Chef, “our goal was to evoke feelings of hem (home), highlighting Swedish family traditions but also providing something for everyone, all are welcome!”
In 1841, the first Swedish community in Wisconsin was established at Pine Lake, just outside of Waukesha. Celebrate and immerse yourself in Wisconsin’s Swedish heritage at Lakefront Brewery with the only Swedish New Year’s Eve event in the state, occurring from 3:30PM to 7PM on Wednesday, December 31st. Tickets cost $50 and include a champagne toast, your first drink (beer, wine, cocktail, soda), as well as passed appetizers, a large charcuterie display, a full buffet, and dessert table. The event is family-friendly, children 12 and under tickets are only $20.
New this year, Lakefront is hosting its first “Build-A-Shelf” competition. A shelf ($50 value) from everyone’s favorite Swedish furniture store will be the centerpiece of this contest. Teams of 4 will work together to be the fastest expert carpentry team they can be. The first team to successfully finish their shelf will take home a case of beer and their freshly made furniture. One individual needs to purchase entry for $20, then form their team with up to 3 other event attendees. Limited spots remain and may go quickly.
