Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport: From chaos to calm: GRB enhances airport experience this holiday season

Making holiday travel feel like home with comfort-focused upgrades

Green Bay, Wis. – As the busy holiday travel season approaches, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) reminds travelers that the airport offers several areas designed to make the journey a little easier — and a lot more comfortable. Whether travelers are seeking a quiet moment, space for the kids to play, or a spot to get some work done, GRB has them covered.

The Sky Lounge, located on the second floor before security, is a hidden gem. Travelers can take the elevator and press “2” to find a spacious and quiet area with comfy chairs, tables and vending machines. It’s also a great place for kids to stretch their legs before a flight, thanks to the long hallway.

The Grand Lobby has been refreshed with new park-style furniture and cozy rocking chairs that offer sweeping views of the runways. A new children’s coloring area gives families a fun, low-stress way to pass the time before security.

Concourse Comfort Zones are located once travelers are through the security checkpoint. You can find free lounge areas in each concourse, designed to suit a variety of needs:

  • TV Lounge: Tables and chairs as well as comfortable seating with views of the new large TV’s, free video game area and nearby massage chairs for those who want to relax.
  • Business Lounge: A quiet space with charging stations and room to take business calls or catch up on emails.
  • Mother/Family Lounge: A private, peaceful area for nursing or tending to travelers who need additional care.
  • Family Fun Zone: A welcoming space where kids can play games, read books, and unwind before boarding.

“Travel during the holidays can be hectic, but our team at GRB has worked hard to create areas throughout the terminal that help ease the experience,” said GRB Airport Director Marty Piette, A.A.E. “We want travelers to feel relaxed, comfortable and cared for from the moment they arrive.”

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach added, “The airport is truly the front door to our community, and these spaces reflect the warmth, hospitality and family-friendly spirit that define all of Brown County. GRB is an ideal extension of that welcome.”

Whether travelers are coming home for the holidays or heading out on an adventure, GRB encourages everyone to take a few moments to enjoy the calm, comfort and convenience of these thoughtfully designed spaces.
