Brown County: Infrastructure investments spur municipal growth

Preliminary 2025 Population Figures Show 3.53% Growth Since 2020 Census

(Brown County, Wis.) – Preliminary estimates of the January 1, 2025, population for Brown County show that its population is now 278,217, which is up 3.53% (9,477 more residents) since the 2020 Census. “Thanks to the wise infrastructure investments made by Brown County, our population continues to grow in areas supported by sales tax projects,” says Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach. “Projects like the VV-29 Interchange, the South Bridge Connector (SBC), and the Denmark Business Development Corridor (DBDC) have led to those municipalities growing their population since the COVID-19 pandemic, affirming Brown County’s rationale for supporting these infrastructure projects.” Population figures for the Towns of Lawrence and Ledgeview, along with the Villages of Denmark, Hobart, and Howard, show the importance of making investments in local infrastructure to grow the resident population, which in turn grows further business investment and the community’s tax base.
