WWBIC: Business Women’s Roundtable in La Crosse open to public

LA CROSSE, WIS. – The Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) Southwest Office is teaming up with the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) to present a Business Women’s Roundtable in La Crosse on Thursday, March 28th. The public is invited to this event, which will take place from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the WWBIC office at 3500 State Road 16 and will feature four prominent statewide women’s business leaders: DOA Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld, Administrator of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development’s Division of Employment and Training Michele Carter, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Women’s Council Jenifer Cole, and WWBIC Vice President of Programs and Operations, Dr. Kamaljit Jackson.

“This panel is at the forefront of business in Wisconsin, and we’re so privileged to have them bring their insights and experience to La Crosse,” says Kara Schuster, WWBIC Southwest Regional Director. “I can’t think of a better way to close out Women’s History Month than to learn and be inspired by these women who are writing the next chapter of women’s history here in Wisconsin.”

The roundtable will discuss ongoing workforce challenges and opportunities facing women in Wisconsin. The panel will cover state business investments and opportunities, workforce data points and trends, and financial realities facing women as they near retirement. Stories from local business owners, and a chance to engage, network, and ask questions will make this a wonderful opportunity for local entrepreneurs, employers, workers, and women business leaders.

Topics covered include:

  • What can we be doing to advance business women and help them succeed in Wisconsin?
  • What challenges, opportunities, and resources exist at the state level?
  • What does data tell us about the state of women and the workforce?
  • How can women entrepreneurs better prepare for retirement?
  • What are local examples of success in La Crosse that can be replicated in other communities?

Admission to the Business Women’s Roundtable is free, and a light lunch will be provided. Advance registration is requested for planning purposes. Registration and more details can be found at https://bit.ly/laxroundtable.
