Sturgeon Bay, WIS., Feb. 28, 2024— The Women’s Fund of Door County, a component fund of the Door County Community Foundation, is now accepting applications for its spring Community Grants program.
Grants are given to organizations and programs that seek to address the needs of local women and girls by providing education and information; building self-esteem and dignity; and supporting solutions to critical issues.
As the largest Door County charitable fund focusing exclusively on the needs of women and girls, the Women’s Fund of Door awarded nearly $90,000 in Community Grants in 2023 and looks forward to granting more funds this year.
“We are excited for this year’s granting cycle to start and look forward to seeing creative and impactful grant proposals helping Door County women and girls succeed,” says Ann Glessner, Women’s Fund of Door County board president.
Last year’s Community Grants provided funding for a variety of projects including HELP of Door County’s Safe Home Program and Transitional Living Program; Money Management Counselors’ Taking Back the POWER of Financial Control; Door Peninsula Astronomical Society’s internship position; and Boys and Girls Club of Door County’s Girls in STEAM Program.
“The Door County Community Foundation is honored to support the Women’s Fund of Door County and to administer its Community Grants,” says Jessica Holland, vice president of Philanthropic Services at Door County Community Foundation. “These impactful grants support meaningful programs that address the ongoing needs of women and girls in Door County. We encourage charitable organizations to contact the Community Foundation’s Philanthropic Services Team to discuss this grant opportunity and how to apply.”
Grant applications are due March 25. Grant application information, including how to apply, can also be found at https://womensfunddoorcounty.org/grants/.
