Monona, WI – October 5, 2024 – The Wisconsin Grief Collective, in partnership with the Alana Rose Foundation, Healing Our Hearts, and Mikayla’s Grace, is proud to announce the 1st Annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 5th at the Dream Park in Monona. This free, family-friendly event invites bereaved families and their supporters to come together for a day of remembrance, healing, and advocacy to help raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss.
Event Schedule:
- 2:00 PM: Forever in Our Hearts Remembrance Ceremony
Join us as we honor our babies through heartfelt stories, poetry, and music. Together, we will say the names of our little ones and share in a moment of collective remembrance. - 3:00 PM: Empty Stroller Awareness Walk
This powerful walk invites participants to carry the weight of loss with empty strollers, symbolizing the void left behind when a baby dies. Bereaved parents are encouraged to personalize their strollers with memorial bears, photos, or cherished items to honor their babies. - 3:30 PM: Family and Friends Picnic
Connect with fellow bereaved families and supporters over complimentary food and beverages. This picnic fosters a sense of community and shared healing. - 4:30 PM: Healing Our Hearts Tree Dedication Ceremony
This poignant ceremony will highlight the racial disparities in grief experiences and provide a space to honor the unique struggles of the Black community.
We invite all members of the community to join us in honoring the memories of our babies and raising awareness about pregnancy and infant loss. Together, we can create a supportive environment where families feel seen, heard, and validated.
