FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Society Insurance has been recognized as one of 10 nationwide Best Internship Programs by Employ Humanity, a leadership-development and culture-design company based in Plymouth, Wisconsin. The Best Internship Programs award identifies employers that offer the top internship programs in the United States to start a career, grow and thrive as a business professional.
“Internships allow young professionals to tap into their full leadership potential,” said Rose McPhee, senior human resources generalist and internship coordinator at Society. “While interns acquire skills and industry knowledge, Society learns from their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. By investing in our internship program, we contribute to the development of insurance leaders, promote social responsibility and build a robust talent pipeline.”
Since Society Insurance introduced its internship program in 2007, more than 140 college students have completed summer or full-year internships in departments throughout the company. Many interns earn job offers upon graduation or come back to Society as their careers advance: Today, more than 5% of Society’s employees are graduates of the internship program.
“I felt my input as an intern was valuable and my projects contributed to important goals,” said Janae Manning-Smith, a risk control intern in 2022 and currently a risk control representative at Society.
“Society’s fun culture and atmosphere caught my attention right away,” said Madison Conery, a claims intern in 2019 and now a commercial underwriter II. “Everyone was extremely helpful and wanted me to find the right career path. I could tell this was a place I wanted to work at long-term.”
