North Shore Healthcare Implements Strategic Name Change

Milwaukee (October 1, 2024) – In order to better leverage its strong market concentration and established reputation, through its network of skilled and assisted living centers across the upper Midwest, North Shore Healthcare has changed its name to North Shore Health.

“While it’s a subtle shift, on the parent company level, we believe the significant presence we have gives us a unique opportunity for collaboration with other providers in our space,” said David Mills, Managing Partner with North Shore Health.

Since the company’s inception in 2015, it has understood the importance of maintaining each center’s identity. Moving forward, local centers will be linked with the North Shore Health brand to convey the strength and support the parent company provides. The change is effective October 1 and will gradually be adopted throughout the company’s network.

North Shore Health operates 69 skilled nursing and assisted living centers with a concentration of 62 locations in Wisconsin, making it the largest provider in the state. It has five centers in Minnesota, and one in both North Dakota and Michigan. In addition, the company has expanded its suite of services to include home health, hospice and staffing to better serve the communities in which it operates. “We are very proud of the reputation our centers have established in their communities. We realize the importance of keeping familiar names in the areas we serve, as well as the critical role our centers play in each community. In many of our smaller towns, we are the largest employer. Adding the North Shore Health logo is a badge of consistency that represents the quality of care we’re dedicated to delivering and takes advantage of the positive reputation we’ve built,” said Mills.

Operating in a Challenging Industry

During the past 10 years, the nursing home industry has gone through significant changes as numerous providers have suddenly closed or entered bankruptcy.

In contrast, North Shore Health has grown and, as it acquired locations, worked to elevate the facility, its staff and level of care.

“Our stability and sustainability differentiate us in the marketplace,” said Mills. “We are willing to take calculated risks and adjust our business approach to meet the needs of our patients and their families today and tomorrow.”     

Developing and retaining superior Executive Directors (EDs) and Directors of Nursing (DONs) in each of its markets has been a key driver of success.
