MILWAUKEE – Jay Rothman, president of the Universities of Wisconsin, will be the guest speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon set for Tuesday, January 23, hosted by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.
Rothman, the UW system’s ninth president, succeeded former Wisconsin Gov. and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson in June 2022. Rothman previously was chairman and CEO of Foley and Lardner LLP, one of the state’s largest law firms and ranked among the top 50 law firms in the country based on revenue.
Rothman will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, to be moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Maryann Lazarski, series/documentary producer for Milwaukee PBS.

The luncheon is set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. in Milwaukee.
