Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), partnering with Kroger, became one of the first colleges in the region to provide free, on-campus grocery delivery to students, faculty and staff.
The organizations recognized this innovative partnership on Tuesday, August 6, by delivering groceries and providing free ice cream to attendees interested in taking advantage of the student-focused partnership.
“Our organizations have a shared belief that fresh and nutritious food should be accessible to everyone,” said Roundy’s Division President Michael Marx, .
In the Milwaukee area, Kroger operates Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market stores. With Kroger Delivery, grocery orders arrive at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus in a refrigerated blue delivery truck and are available for pickup anytime between 2-5 p.m. Individuals select the window of time they would like to pick up their groceries.
“In addition to providing a quality education, we seek to provide students with resources that make their lives easier,” said MATC President Dr. Anthony Cruz. “We are putting them first!”
The blue delivery vehicles have a refrigerated area where frozen foods are stored with dry ice so chilled and frozen items will stay cold as long as needed. Individuals order groceries online at picknsave.com or through the Pick ‘n Save app before 8 a.m. the Tuesday morning, the same date of delivery.
