Lakefront Brewery: Adds “2019 Barleywine Ale” to Brewers’ Reserve lineup

MILWAUKEE (February 20, 2024) – For a couple years now, Lakefront Brewery has been brewing and packaging small batch, barrel-aged, rare beer under the Brewers’ Reserve brand. The Brewery has just added to that line up with a Barleywine Ale that has been in Bourbon barrels since 2019.

“The Brewers’ Reserve Series lets our brewhouse team play with barrel-aging niche beer styles. Four years ago, we brewed a Barleywine Ale and mellowed it out in bourbon barrels,” said Lakefront Brewery Head Brewer, Luther Paul. “And mellow it did; into finely-folded layers of caramel, toffee-coated almonds, vanilla, pepper and dried fruit.”

Brewers’ Reserve beers have been popular and award-winning. Last year’s Brewers’ Reserve Honey Bock took silver at the Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beer in Chicago.

There are currently a few different Brewers’ Reserve beers available (only at Lakefront Brewery). They’re $4 a can/bottle, or $20 a sixpack. They include Wheat Wine, Imperial Oatmeal Stout and more. These are all small, limited releases.

The 2019 Barleywine Ale has a 15.8% ABV and IBUs of 40.
