JustDane is excited to be celebrating 50 years of advocacy work in the Dane County community. A celebration will be held on April 11th, 6 – 8:30 pm, at Madison College Truax Campus- Mitby Theater featuring Father Boyle of Homeboy Industries as our keynote speaker. It will be an evening of inspiration.
Judge Everett Mitchell, Dane County Circuit Court Judge and former Associate Director of JustDane (at the time Madison-area Urban Ministry) will be emceeing the event. JustDane will be presenting our Partners for Change Award to Blackhawk Church with appreciation for and in recognition of their strong commitment to purposeful community impact through the generosity of Advent Conspiracy Grants. Our Visionary Award will be presented to Jackie Austin in grateful recognition of her lifelong advocacy focused on equity and social justice and her innovation in cultivating awareness around these issues.
The event will begin at 6 pm with live jazz and hors d’oeuvres in Madison College’s Gateway, followed by the main program in the adjacent Mitby Theatre at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite at https://justdane50th.
