Milwaukee – Hundreds are expected to gather at the Rosh Hashana Farmer’s Market on the 22nd. Not your typical farmer’s market, this market is a multi-sensory, hands on experience gearing up for the Jewish new year! This will be a festive event for all ages! Participants will get to eat, shop, create, enjoy, experience. All are invited for a day of fun, food, and holiday energy.
On Sunday, September 22, from 10:00am-12:30pm, outdoors at Chabad of the East Side in Milwaukee, Milwaukeeans will experience the sweetness of the new year. Participants will peruse and buy art from local artists, purchase food and drink, create decorations for their holiday tables, braid their own challah bread, bake traditional honey cake, partake in holiday food tasting, explore and purchase Judaica. Additionally there will be fresh flowers for sale, local farm–fresh honey for purchase, and a limited supply of FREE fresh produce from Victory Gardens. Children can get their faces painted for free, there will be live music, and more!
“We are so excited to be bringing this special celebration back to the community,” says Mushka Lein, event coordinator. “The new year comes with so many meaningful traditions, foods, and song, and we want to share that joy with everyone in town.”
The event is free and open to the public.
