DeForest, WI – The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council today announced that Gordon Hintz is the new Director for the Wisconsin Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET). Wisconsin LECET works to identify, develop, and promote issues of mutual benefit and concern to both labor and management with the goal to make LIUNA Wisconsin members safer and more productive and signatory contractors more competitive.
Gordon Hintz joins Wisconsin LECET having recently completed his eighth term serving as the State Representative for Wisconsin’s 54th Assembly District. During his time in the state legislature, Mr. Hintz was the Assembly Democratic Leader from October 2017 to January 2022, and prior to that served on the powerful Joint Committee on Finance from 2015 to 2017. Before becoming a member of the State Assembly, Mr. Hintz served in various public policy positions in Wisconsin and around the country.
“Throughout my career, I have been driven to provide greater opportunities for working people, which is why I am very excited to get started as the new Wisconsin LECET Director,” said Gordon Hintz. “When unions are strong and their employers are competitive and profitable, that is a huge benefit to Wisconsin’s economy.”
“During his time in the Assembly, Gordon Hintz was very knowledgeable on issues that affect the union construction industry, and he has been a great advocate for our union way of life,” said Kent Miller, President/Business Manager of the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council and Chair of the Wisconsin LECET fund. “I am looking forward to Gordon joining our team and working to provide more work opportunities for our members by strengthening our partnerships with our employers, as well as working on inclusionary efforts to give more opportunities to DBE’s.”

The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council is an affiliation of five Laborer local unions, representing nearly 9,000 construction craft laborers throughout Wisconsin. The Laborers are the most diverse trade in the construction industry servicing employers in transportation infrastructure, building, sewer and water, utility distribution, demolition, asbestos removal, and related sectors.
