Wisconsin Film Festival: To hold in-person film festival in Hilldale and Leopold’s Books Bar Caffe

Madison, WI – Due to popular demand for “in-person” box offices selling tickets to the 2023 Wisconsin Film Festival (April 13-20, 2023), the organization has added in-person box office hours to Wisconsin Film Festival Hilldale and will also be part of a pop-up hosted by Leopold’s Books Bar Caffè. Both ticketing outlets are in Madison. To-date, a dozen Festival screenings have sold out.

Hours to purchase tickets in-person at Wisconsin Film Festival Hilldale, at 430 N. Midvale Blvd., are Saturday, April 8, 10 am-2 pm and Wednesday, April 12, 5-7 pm. The time frame to purchase tickets at Leopold’s, 1301 Regent St., is Monday, April 10, 4-7 pm. Leopold’s, a Community Partner of the 2023 Festival, also invites ticket purchasers to buy books, cocktails and coffee and mingle with fellow cinephiles. A credit or debit card is required for ticket purchases. Wisconsin Film Festival staff will be present to process ticketing transactions and answer questions.

Wisconsin Film Festival tickets went on sale to the public on Saturday, March 11 and will continue to be available through the end of the Festival, which closes on Thursday, April 20. General admission tickets are $12 each to all screenings in the Wisconsin Film Festival. Festival passes are $325. To purchase, visitwww.wifilmfest.eventive.org/welcome. Subject to availability, UW-Madison students are eligible for one free ticket to every screening all Festival long with a current WisCard. If a seat is available for the screening, the student will be admitted at no cost. Per Festival tradition, for sold out shows, rush lines will form at these screenings and any available seats at showtime will be filled.

Tickets will also be available at Wisconsin Film Festival during Festival hours (April 13-20) venues on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus include Shannon Hall, 800 Langdon St.; Chazen Museum of Art, 750 University Ave.; UW Cinematheque, 821 University Ave.; and The Marquee, 2nd Floor, Union South, 1308 Dayton St. Films will also be screened at Wisconsin Film Festival Hilldale in Cinemas 1, 5, and 6 (the former AMC Hilldale theaters), located at 430 N. Midvale Blvd.

Presented over eight days, at four University of Wisconsin-Madison venues and three screens at WFF Hilldale, this year’s Festival celebrates 25 years of cinematic indulgence. More than 160 films will be shown, including shorts, narrative features, documentaries, repertory films, restorations and rediscoveries, the best new films from around the world and nearby, including Wisconsin’s Own, as well as family friendly fare in the Big Screens, Little Folks section of the festival.
