MADISON, WISCONSIN – StoryFirst Media, a leading video production and story branding firm in Wisconsin, is thrilled to announce the one and only in-person Madison screening of their highly anticipated true crime documentary, “Beyond Human Nature,” which tells the gripping story of the Tom Monfils murder investigation in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1992.
The film will screen as part of the 25th Annual Wisconsin Film Festival on April 15th at 4:00 PM at The Marquee Theatre at Union South. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Wisconsin Film Festival website: wifilmfest.org.
In production for nearly a decade, the documentary will showcase never-before-seen footage and interviews with key players in the investigation, shedding new light on the case that has captivated the region for 30 years. The film was directed by StoryFirst Media co-founder and filmmaker Michael Neelsen.
In 1992, Tom Monfils was found dead at the bottom of a pulp vat in a paper mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His death was ruled a homicide, and six co-workers were convicted of his murder. However, there has been much controversy surrounding the case, with some people believing that the convicted men were innocent.
“After nine years of filming, and on the 30th anniversary of Tom Monfils’ death, we are thrilled to share ‘Beyond Human Nature’ with the world,” said director Michael Neelsen. “It’s not every homicide case where the victim’s brother openly advocates for the innocence of the convicted murderers. We hope audiences find this story as compelling as we do and that the film draws national attention to the last of the ‘Monfils Six’ to remain in prison – Keith Kutska – who is up for a parole hearing this year.”
