MUKWONAGO, Wis. –The annual Mukwonago Community Kids For Wish Kids ® Program presented a check for $175,000 in donations to Make-A-Wish ® Wisconsin Thursday night.

The check presentation at Mukwonago High School capped the annual community fundraising campaign with the theme, “Strength. Hope. Community.” The campaign was led by various Mukwonago athletic and student groups, including track & field, band and youth basketball teams and various other groups.

The community supported the cause by pledging donations to the Mukwonago students who participated in a “free-throw-a-thon” Jan. 19 through Feb. 2. The drive also received support from Milwaukee Bucks guard Pat Connaughton, the Pat Connaughton Foundation, Connaughton Courts, BreakThrU Strategies, Xiogenix and the Jendusa Family.

The check included a matching donation of $30,000 from the Jendusa Family.

“It takes a caring community of people to grant wishes for children living with critical illnesses,” said Patti Gorsky, President and CEO, Make-A-Wish ® Wisconsin. “We could not begin to fulfill these life-affirming wishes without the great students, staff, their families and the greater Mukwonago, Muskego and other surrounding communities, who are making magic happen through their creative efforts, infectious energy and hustle. These efforts will bring hope, strength, joy and beautiful memories made for wish kids and their
families.”

“These donations will fulfill the wishes of more than 26 kids suffering from a terminal illness. It’s very important for the Jendusa family to teach the act of giving to kids, and there’s no better cause for doing that than Make-A-Wish,” said Jerry Jendusa.
