Family Friendly Wisconsin: Statement on second anniversary of ARPA

MADISON, Wis. – Family Friendly Wisconsin released the following statement today, celebrating the second anniversary of President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for the historic relief it has delivered for working families.

Brita Olsen, Family Friendly Wisconsin State Director:

“Over the past two years, working families have felt real, tangible relief in their daily lives, and that is thanks to the work of President Biden and Democrats in Congress in passing the American Rescue Plan Act.

“Because of historic investments in child care, families have been able to find and afford quality care for their children while returning to the workforce. The support has allowed family child care providers like Corrine Hendrickson (featured in this storybook) to earn and pay their own workers a living wage, while also improving the quality of care they provide, without burdening families with higher bills.

“Unfortunately, child care funding is set to run out later this year, and there is not currently a plan to continue stabilizing and supporting the industry. Family Friendly Wisconsin is calling on our representatives in Washington, D.C. to work with President Biden on building on these investments and providing more support to child care providers and families.”
