Elmbrook Education Foundation: Presents check for $80,000 thanks to Schlifske Family Foundation and Community Generosity

Brookfield, WI – February 14, 2023 — The Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF) presented an $80,000 check to the School District of Elmbrook for the Shared Theatre and Fine Arts initiative from funds raised through the EEF Ladies Night event, generous donations from the Elmbrook community, and $40,000 in matching funds from the Schlifske Family Foundation.

“It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we come together as a community to benefit our students and staff. A special thank you to John and Kim Schlifske! Their generosity will impact thousands of students for many years to come,” said Beth Dobrzynski, EEF Executive Director.

Elmbrook’s Theater and Fine Arts programs are among the best in the state. The Elmbrook Education Foundation super-grant will provide funds to acquire wireless microphones, sound boards, and mobile lighting equipment that will be shared amongst all of our schools and used for musicals, plays, concerts, and school events.

Kim Schlifske said, “John and I are honored to help Elmbrook School District offer its students and faculty in the Fine Arts Department an opportunity to be seen and heard in a way that reflects their immense talent and effort.  When I was in the audience for a recent Elmbrook musical, one of the mics went out in the middle of the performance. My heart literally sank. These kids put so much effort into these performances, they deserve to be heard!”

The Schlifske’s have generously offered to match an additional $20,000 through the end of this school year. Donations can be made by check sent to the EEF at Elmbrook District Office (3555 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield, WI 53005) or online at https://Theater22.givesmart.com

EEF was organized in 1958 to award scholarships to select Elmbrook School District high school graduates. In 1999, the Foundation’s mission expanded to include teacher grants for innovative projects that benefit all students and raise money to support and strengthen outstanding learning ideas that improve the overall educational quality of our public schools. EEF has awarded over $1,500,000 in scholarships and $500,000 in grants which enhance and extend the established curriculum and support projects that are beyond the district’s budget.
