MADISON, Wis., Jan. 30, 2023 – Deloitte and SuccessWorks at University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Letters & Science announced a new, collaborative effort to bring state-of-the-art career training programs to students.
Deloitte’s Future of Work InstituteTM (FoWI) offered its program to UW-Madison’s College of Letters & Science to help undergraduate students prepare for a successful transition to the workforce. The program provides essential training that employers are increasingly demanding more critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. It also helps participants develop foundational human skills, navigate change and understand the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. By emphasizing the development of these foundational skills in college – including empathy and emotional intelligence – the FoWI program enables students to bridge the gap between their academic studies and the skills they need to successfully compete in today’s labor market.
Students who participate in Deloitte’s FoWI earn a micro-credential – a qualification received through focused training that identifies a person’s competence in a skill and can be added to their resume or LinkedIn profile. Many colleges and universities use micro-credentials to help students quickly upgrade or enhance their skillsets.

As we bring Deloitte’s Future of Work Institute to Madison, we will provide students with a solid foundation of human-centered skills to meet the needs of employers and succeed in their careers.”
UW-Madison joins more than a dozen colleges and universities that have participated in Deloitte’s FoWI. Deloitte plans to deliver FoWI programming to several other Wisconsin colleges and universities in 2023.

We’re honored to be the first higher education institution in Wisconsin to provide this groundbreaking training program.”
Fifty UW-Madison students participated in the first two sessions of the FoWI micro-credential program offered this month. The program was led by certified facilitators from Deloitte at the organization’s East Washington Avenue office.
The curriculum included core labs to help students understand what the future of work means, along with ancillary activities to apply their knowledge and gain professional experience. These activities included a networking session for UW-Madison students and a workshop where they learned how to tell their story and articulate their value proposition to future employers.
