Civic Media: Writer, director, comedian and public television personality Pete Schwaba brings entertainment variety show to Wisconsin’s radio airwaves

MADISON, Wis. – Civic Media is pleased to announce the addition of “Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba” to its daily show line-up. It will air weekdays from 8 to 10 p.m. beginning Monday, December 4.

“I’m excited to bring laughter and insightful discussion about movies and the shows we feel passionately about,” says Schwaba. “Entertainment, just like sports, helps bring people together, which is more important now than ever. I’m excited to introduce listeners to people I’ve met over the years in the entertainment business, share experiences, and generally celebrate arts and culture in Wisconsin.”

Pete Schwaba is a comedian, writer and director of movies. He’s made several appearances on HBO, Comedy Central, TBS and A&E. He’s written movies like A Guy Thing (MGM) and cult classic The Godfather of Green Bay (Image). He was a writer and performer on Comcast’s sports comedy sketch show Sports Soup and Jeff Foxworthy’s producer on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? He’s worked with talents such as Jamie Foxx, Kevin James, Tony Goldwyn, Lauren Holly, Thomas Lennon, Sarah Silverman, Lance Barber and many others. Most recently Schwaba has been hosting shows about movies on public television as well as developing new films. He’s excited to bring a little Hollywood to Wisconsin and a LOT of Wisconsin to Hollywood.

“The world of entertainment is vast, and you might not know it, but Wisconsin has strong connections to that world,” says Kathryn Lake, Civic Media’s Director of Programming. “I learned of so many Wisconsin-Hollywood connections while developing this show with Pete and I’m excited for him to share his knowledge with our audience — with more than a dash of humor, of course.”

“We can’t wait to introduce Pete and his new show to our audience and give them someone to relax with in the evening,” said Sage Weil, CEO of Civic Media. “There’s no one better to help us find our way through today’s incredibly large amount of entertainment content to choose from than Pete. He has an enormous amount of knowledge of and experience in that world. Plus, he’ll do it with a smile, a laugh, and a Wisconsin twist.”
