NEENAH, Wis. (March 30, 2022) – McMahon, a full-service, professional engineering and architectural firm, is pleased to announce retired senior vice president Carl Sutter, P.E., D.WRE, F.ASCE was recently named a board certified diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE), a subsidiary of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The D.WRE Board Certification represents strong professional ethics and a commitment to life-long learning and continuing professional development.
Sutter led the environment and infrastructure group at McMahon for 20 years. In that time, he assisted in the creation of the first multi-jurisdictional storm water utility in the state of Wisconsin and provided more than 2,900 drainage plan reviews for governmental agencies. He also conducted numerous area-wide or watershed-based drainage analyses, bridge hydraulic studies, and dam break analyses and emergency action plans.
AAWRE’s Board Certification program was developed to improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the profession of water resources engineering. In addition to this distinction, Sutter is also a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, recently completing a three-year term as society director on the board of direction, is a member of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute and the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute. Sutter has been involved in all of the Wisconsin Infrastructure Report Card releases and is currently involved with education for the 2020 report card.
