Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region: Becomes silver-certified Fox Cities employee friendly workplace

FOX CITIES, Wis. – (September 15, 2022) – The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region has been certified as a 2022 Silver-level Employee Friendly Workplace by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce. This certification recognizes employers who demonstrate a significant commitment to promoting work/life integration by creating a positive work environment and experience for all employees.

Silver certified employers demonstrate a significant commitment to offering and expanding benefits and policies that support the work/life needs of employees. At the Community Foundation, this includes flexible scheduling in a hybrid work environment to support the work/life needs of the team members. Friday afternoons are known as “Summer Fridays” between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and “No Meeting Fridays” the rest of the year.

Employee-led committees – TLC (Team, Learning, Culture) and DEIAR – engage recognize, welcome, and provide learning opportunities to our team. The TLC committee often brings the team together to celebrate individual and organization milestones, while the DEIAR committee continues to build upon our success of being an inclusive and welcoming organization.

In addition to professional development opportunities, all team members have access to our strategic HR partner for individual mentoring and coaching.

The mission of the Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace Initiative is to encourage the adoption of more employee friendly workplace practices and policies in order to enhance work/life balance and successfully attract and retain the best employees to the region.

“This is a big achievement for the Community Foundation,” said Curt Detjen, President and CEO. “We applaud the Chamber for giving all organizations in the region the ability to review best practices and to foster the people-first cultures that will help us all to flourish. Non-profit organizations are encouraged to join the Chamber and engage in this program just as we’ve done. “We’re excited and will strive for Gold next year!”

The Community Foundation is the 11th Fox Cities company to be certified as being employee friendly. Eric Broten, Director of Economic Development at the Chamber, explained how the certification works: “We rate employers in four major categories: Paid Leave and Flexible Work Schedules, Health and Wellness Support, Financial Support and Perks. Employers are then given a score and if qualified, rank as Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. We are thrilled to add the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region to this prestigious list and add them as our newest Employee Friendly Workplace certified employer!”

Overall, the Chamber’s Employee Friendly Workplace certification encourages policies and practices that foster a supportive work environment to improve employee engagement and encourage employee loyalty. A commitment to employee friendliness creates an environment in the Fox Cities that attracts and retains the best employees for the region.

Certification is open to all employers with operations located in the Fox Cites (Calumet, Outagamie and northern Winnebago Counties). The comprehensive benefit criteria incorporated into the application is intended to be attainable as well as aspirational for employers of any size across all industry sectors.
