Scale Up Milwaukee: Re-launching Growth Accelerator; taking applications for 7th cohort

MILWAUKEE – Scale Up Milwaukee is accepting applications for the seventh cohort of its Growth Accelerator, which will begin in August and provide insight on how established businesses can maintain and expand growth strategies.

Since launching the Growth Accelerator in 2013, 85 companies have completed the program, and collectively, have experienced more than 25 percent growth in revenue and have hired more than 1,200 new employees. Programming is focused on helping companies improve in the areas of sales, marketing, finances, operations and organizational development. A new component of the curriculum includes improving digital business, planning and adaptability.

Applications can be found at scaleupmilwaukee.org.

“Being selected and joining Scale Up has been an unbelievable investment for our business,” said Mark Naber, vice president of West Allis Blue, a past Growth Accelerator participant. “Getting outside perspective and having a small group of peers available to share information has proven to be an incredible resource during trying times in the economy. You don’t have to feel alone in your challenges or successes.”

The Growth Accelerator focuses on companies in the Milwaukee area but this year is open to businesses throughout Wisconsin and the nation. Programming begins in August and continues through December.

“Growth Accelerator was a great opportunity for not only Central Standard Craft Distillery but myself as well,” said Pat McQuillan, co-owner of Central Standard Craft Distillery. “We were able to use the time in the classroom to learn from the talented instructors and hear real-world growth stories and growing pains from our cohort. Today we continue to work with and lean on those that we met in the cohort.”
