On Broadway: Lighting ceremony kicks off holiday season

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The annual Lighting Ceremony on Broadway, presented by Tundraland and Renewal by Andersen, will be held Friday, November 19 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Broadway District.

This event officially kicks off the holiday season in the district and includes visits with Santa, cookie decorating, gift wrapping, ornament decorating and so much more.
The official countdown to the illumination will be officiated by Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Broadway and Hubbard St. The Southwest High School Chamber Choir will be performing during the ceremony.

Broadway businesses will be open for visitors to browse and get a start on their holiday shopping. This event will have something for everyone: horse drawn sleigh ride, carolers, holiday window displays, and even reindeer.

“The Broadway District is the perfect setting to get you in the holiday spirit,” said Allie Thut, Director of Special Events for On Broadway, Inc. “This family-friendly event will provide holiday-themed activities for all ages.”

“Tundraland and Renewal by Andersen of Greater WI are proud to be the presenting sponsors for the Lighting Ceremony on Broadway, as it brings the community together,” said Hope Kosmerchock, the Marketing Manager with Tundraland. “As the year comes to a close, we love to celebrate the joys that the holiday season brings alongside members from our community, spreading the holiday spirit as people gather to enjoy local shopping, music from carolers, and family-friendly activities.”
