GREEN BAY — Lubenow Companies Inc, a premier trucking and shipping provider for more than two decades, has announced its third Hauling for Good® campaign to support the Littlest Tumor Foundation. During the month of March 2021, Lubenow Companies Inc will donate a portion of the proceeds from each mile driven to the foundation.
Hauling for Good® began in 2019 as a way for the transportation company to give back to the community, but COVID-19 caused uncertainty midway through their 2020 March campaign.
“So much has changed,” said Dave Boeder, Director of Client Services at Lubenow Companies Inc. “We believe some things must not change, namely our dedication to our customers, employees, and community.”
Thanks to its customers’ and employees’ support, Lubenow Companies Inc was able to exceed its 2020 fundraising goal for the Littlest Tumor Foundation, which helped the organization expand its services. “People with NF and their families go through so much unknown. How amazing that with all the uncertainty of the 2020 pandemic, Hauling for Good® was able to be truly a bright light in the NF community,” said Tracy Wirtanen, CEO/Founder of the Littlest Tumor Foundation. “We are a smaller nonprofit but managed, with their help, to have a big impact in 2020. We were actually able to expand programming.”
The Littlest Tumor Foundation works to raise awareness and promote understanding of the genetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis (NF), which impacts 1 in 3000 people. The organization recently went digital with its annual retreat for children and families affected by NF to allow people access to vital programming in a safe, socially-distanced manner. In 2020, the foundation also began providing virtual support circles for parents of children with NF, and expanded their NF Young Adult Leadership Program.
Hauling for Good® hopes to help raise awareness of NF and encourage others to give to the foundation, supporting advocacy, research, and empowerment of families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF). Every time an organization ships with Lubenow Companies Inc in March 2021, they are helping to raise funds for the Littlest Tumor Foundation.
