(Appleton, Wis.) – Following two days of celebration and performances on May 1 & 2, the ribbon has been officially cut on the new Kiel Performing Arts Center. Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. provided design and construction services for the 600-seat auditorium.
Construction on the PAC began in spring 2020, following passage of the $7 million referendum to support the building plan.
“Hoffman is ecstatic for the Kiel Area School District on the opening of their new performing arts center,” said Hoffman’s Jody Andres, K-12 Market Leader. “The District’s determination and perseverance were critical in making this exciting environment for the Arts a reality, and we are proud to have been by their side throughout their journey.”
The PAC, connected to Kiel High School, features a 50-foot fully rigged fly loft, orchestra pit and acoustic shell, hearing loop technology, and an open balcony control booth for full theatrical and musical production capabilities. An attached scene shop doubles as a Tech Ed classroom for the high school’s construction trades class. The PAC will play host to musicals, plays, and vocal performances for the entire school district and is large enough for all-school assemblies. It will also be home to the Kiel High School Band and the Kiel Area Youth Theater.
