Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport: Cleaning team recognized by TSA

(Green Bay, Wis.) Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport’s (GRB) Housekeeping Department has been recognized for its work throughout the pandemic by Wisconsin’s Federal Security Director for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The GRB team partnered with TSA by providing a Model Workplace Environment (MWE) at the airport. The official Certificate of Appreciation awarded to the team states: “Your actions and job knowledge assisted with ensuring that safety and sanitation is foremost, and handled with great efficiency, by providing a positive experience for those TSA employees working with the traveling public through their communications, commitment and dedication shown daily.”

GRB Airport Director Marty Piette, A.A.E., praised the cleaning team’s efforts. “They have done a truly outstanding job during difficult times by embracing our ‘GRB Means Clean’ initiative. We instituted several major enhancements to our cleaning and sanitizing protocols and procedures, requiring extra effort and diligence. This team was all in on doing whatever they could to keep people safe. They are among the unsung heroes of the pandemic, which is why I am very pleased they are being recognized for their efforts.”

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach also offered his thanks to the team, stating, “I appreciate and applaud the cleaning team’s dedication to serving the traveling public, their fellow airport workers and all of Brown County. They provide an essential service and do so with professionalism and focus. I want to thank them on behalf of everyone in Brown County.”
