Milwaukee – November 8, 2021 – Today, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago, Inc., announced the appointment of Clayton Pryor as chief mission officer. As a member of the senior leadership team, Pryor will build on Goodwill’s strategic vision and deliver operational leadership that paves the path for the organization’s sustained mission impact and long-term growth strategy throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago. The hiring of Pryor, who resides in Chicago, supports Goodwill’s efforts to strengthen its executive presence in the Chicago market.
Pryor comes to Goodwill with nearly 15 years of experience creating jobs, revitalizing neighborhoods, and building sustainable communities. In his previous role at Advocate Aurora Health, he led the team member learning and workforce development departments. Prior to joining Advocate Aurora Health, Pryor served as the director of workforce development at the Chicago Urban League.
Throughout his career, Clayton’s portfolio of work has been dedicated to creating career pipelines in underserved communities by offering job skills and training to prepare candidates for a variety of industry sectors. His leadership has been instrumental in developing local, regional, and national initiatives that promote careers, build career pathways, advance skilled workforces, and invest in equitable outcomes.

Pryor earned his Master of Arts degree in organizational leadership with a concentration in public policy administration from Lewis University. He also earned a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from the University of South Florida.

Pryor began his new role on Monday, October 25, 2021, and was officially welcomed by Hallberg during the annual Community Day celebration held on November 4, 2021. As part of his new role, Pryor will lead teams that further define the Goodwill mission strategy, secure workforce partnerships with employers and other community partners, and measure the success of those efforts to drive transformational and equitable impact in the lives of the people the organization serves.
