Wisconsin Veterans Village Association, Great Northern Fleet Truck: Celebrate culmination of Freedom Ruck November 7 & 8.

APPLETON, Wis. (November 3, 2020) – Great Northern Corp. employee, and Wisconsin
Veterans Village (WisVVA) Capital Campaign volunteer Pat Lovesee, along with colleague
Danny Rivers are hosting a two-day Freedom Ruck to inspire others to show appreciation for the men and women serving their country.

Beginning November 7, Lovesee and Rivers are targeting an approximately 60-mile route which includes five counties WisVVA serves: Outagamie, Brown, Waupaca, Winnebago and Calumet and where more than 44,000 veterans reside.

Culminating activities are scheduled for November 8 with a flag raise and a visit from the Great Northern fleet truck recently decaled with photos of veterans at WisVVA, 2919 W Glenpark Dr., Appleton at approximately 12:00 p.m. (noon).

“We’re grateful to Great North Corp for its efforts to honor local veterans and assist WisVVA in raising awareness of the need for affordable housing for veterans in our area.” said Dr. Tom Wiltzius, founding member and capital campaign co-chair for WisVVA.

WisVVA is a local non-profit organization working to create a first-of-its kind Wisconsin Veterans Village, a veteran-centric community providing honor, dignity and pride to Wisconsin veterans throughout their lifespan. The village will provide housing for single veterans and veteran families, senior veterans, and end-of-life care that is specific to veteran needs.

“It is important to proudly display local veterans; men, women, both past and present that are the true inspiration behind the Wisconsin Veterans Village project. I’m particularly excited to share this experience with all of the families and veterans who sent us photos you will see on the Great Northern Fleet truck,” said Pat Lovesee. “A special thanks to Fox Valley Truck and Body, Inc. that did the decal work; and Rich Piatti of RJ Signs & Designs, LLC. Rich’s inspiration comes from his father who is a veteran.”
