Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce: Update on DNC 2020 security measures

The Milwaukee Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service gave an update on security measures for the Democratic National Convention in July. Included in the update were details of an initial security footprint that will be in place during the convention.

In a message to businesses that will be directly affected by security measures, convention officials said, “No business will be asked to close, and downtown Milwaukee will remain open to residents and visitors alike. Additional information about the security measures you can expect to see in your area—and how best to plan for them—will be provided in the coming months.”

The DNC takes place July 13-16. As a reminder, MMAC is calling on our members to suggest story ideas and experts to promote to members of the media during the run-up to the convention.
