Oconomowoc, Wis. – BankBeat magazine announced their 2018 award recipients for their Outstanding Women in Banking Award. Sharon Manke, First Bank Financial Centre’s Security Officer and Oconomowoc resident, was 1 of 6 women awarded. From tellers to presidents, BankBeat profiles
bankers who have gained the respect of peers, bosses and customers by providing outstanding service, thoughtful management or innovative leadership.

Sharon lives and breathes the First Bank Financial Centre (FBFC) mission of Make Lives Better by offering up the equivalent of 46 work days as a volunteer. Sharon simply wants the community she loves to be a place where people enjoy living, working and visiting. She strongly believes in leading by example, as she would never expect anyone to do something she is not willing to do herself. It is this type of leadership that fuels the successful events she is part of in Oconomowoc. Sharon simply wants the community she loves to be a place where people enjoy living, working and visiting.

As a representative of FBFC, Sharon strives to get the word out and speak to different age groups
regarding current fraud trends. She has worked closely with the Oconomowoc Police Department to put together information for senior centers and nearby schools to protect individuals from falling victim to different types of fraud.

As the President of the Board of Directors for the Oconomowoc German Christmas Market, Sharon helps plan an event that brings the community together each holiday season. All proceeds from the food and beverage sales are donated to local charities. Awarded the Non-Profit of the Year Award by the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce, the German Christmas Market is a place where residents and visitors can celebrate their heritage. The marketplace provides free entertainment while showcasing the local shops, restaurants and hotels.

Serving as the President of the Lutheran Homes Service League, Sharon works tirelessly to enhance the residents’ lives through various programs. She even volunteers for the Service League’s retail venture, the Forgotten Treasure resale shop. The shop raises funds for Lutheran Homes by selling quality new, and used items in a boutique-like atmosphere.

Sharon also helps to organize Kids Fest of Oconomowoc; a fun, affordable activity where parents and
children alike can gather to enjoy outdoor activities. Sharon coordinates all of the sponsors and vendors to ensure a high-quality experience for all who attend.
