Madison, Wis., Aug. 4, 2017—MGE Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: MGEE) today reported
earnings for the three months ended June 30, 2017, of $15.5 million, or 45
cents per share, compared to $16.2 million, or 47 cents per share, for the
same period in the prior year.
During the second quarter of 2017, net income decreased slightly, primarily
due to the timing of 2017 operating and maintenance costs in the second
quarter and unfavorable weather conditions. The average temperature for
April was 50 degrees in 2017 compared to 46 degrees in 2016.
