August 24, 2017 (Milwaukee, WI) As canvas painting parties become more and more popular, one Milwaukee artist has taken the concept a step further. Becca Riddle is the co-founder of Brush & Canvas 2 U, a company that comes to your home or workplace and guides you and your friends through the painting of your choice. Riddle feels that painting parties are a fun way to socialize, learn how to paint on canvas, and create a beautiful painting that people can showcase in their homes.
There are a number of businesses in the Milwaukee area that provide painting parties, but all of those businesses host parties in public places. Co-founder Meghan Staszak, says that Brush & Canvas 2 U is the first painting party business in the Milwaukee area to specialize in private parties. Staszak says, “Doing a paint party at a bar can turn into a very expensive night. Between getting a seat at the table, buying snacks, and drinks, you can easily spend $60 on a night out.” Riddle and Staszak formed their partnership as a way for people to save money, have a good time with their family and friends, and host a unique event in the comfort of their own home or workplace.
Brush & Canvas 2 U services Milwaukee and Waukesha counties and allows the host to pick their party date and time. “Our competition offers pre-scheduled classes at their location, but we will let you pick the time, day, location, and even the painting that you want to do,” claims Riddle. The company has a growing gallery of paintings that customers can choose from, extending from holiday themes to landscapes. All of their paintings can be taught to beginners in two and a half hours or less.
Those interested in hosting a party simply need the appropriate space, tables, chairs, and any refreshments they want to provide. Staszak says that every host wants a different experience and every party is unique. Some hosts encourage attendees to bring a dish or drink to pass, while others supply a home cooked meal. While Brush & Canvas 2 U does not supply the refreshments, they do provide all of the needed painting supplies and attendees take home their completed 16×20 canvas painting. “Our ultimate goal is to provide an entertaining and educational experience for our customers, where they feel most comfortable. People are really excited about it,” states Riddle.
