Bankers opinion of economy up from December

The latest analysis from the Wisconsin Bankers Association shows state bankers are happier now with the state economy than they were at the end of 2016.

In December, only 1 percent of surveyed bankers called the economy “excellent.” That grew to 10 percent in June. In both December and June, 75 percent said the economy is “good.”

And 13 percent said the current demand commercial lending is “excellent” compared to 8 percent in December. Demand for business loans and real estate loans were also perceived to be higher this time around.

The June survey was done in the first two weeks of the month, and had 101 respondents.
