February 29, 2016 – Madison, WI – The South Central Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association was incorporated in December of 2009 and is currently celebrating their one year anniversary of their new office location on Madison’s East Side.

The local chapter is a part of the National Alzheimer’s Association which is located in Chicago, IL. The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Locally, staff is dedicated to increasing the level of awareness in our community, providing reliable information and care consultations, creating support services for families, increasing funding for dementia research and influencing public policy changes.

“We are excited to be celebrating one year in our new office location. The move was triggered by a greater need for our local support services and staff growth. Our new location allows staff to provide more and better support services, including one-on-one care consultations, early-stage social engagement programs and a workplace to educate, service and grow our current volunteer network,” says Kari Paterson, Executive Director.

The Alzheimer’s Association invites the public to visit their office on Wednesday, March 2nd for an Open House. The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce will be conducting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30pm. Guests are welcome to stop-by between 12pm-7pm. Activities will include social/networking time, general education and programs about Alzheimer’s disease including tips for a healthy brain and body and a volunteer open house. Refreshments and snacks will be offered for all. For more information, please contact a staff member at 608-203-8500.
