UW School of Business: Marketing professor Thomas O’Guinn to appear in Discovery series “How We Got Here”

Wisconsin School of Business Professor Thomas O’Guinn, whose pioneering research helped

focus scholars and professionals on the social nature of consumer brands, is appearing as a

commentator in several episodes of a new cable television series about iconic, brand-savvy

American business leaders.

“How We Got Here” is a twelve-part series now airing on Discovery’s American Heroes Channel.

It highlights the stories of Americans whose entrepreneurial genius radically changed their

worlds and ours by creating new ideas and industries. O’Guinn, a professor of marketing at the

Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, appears in four of the

episodes highlighting the accomplishments of Samuel Colt, Aldophus Busch, John D. Rockefeller

and Harley Davidson.

The Colt episode premiered last week. The other episodes will premier as follows:

-Episode 9-Aldophus Busch, Tuesday, February 24 at 9 p.m. (CST)

-Episode 10-John D. Rockefeller, Tuesday, March 3rd at 9 p.m.

-Episode 12-Harley Davidson, Tuesday, March 17th at 9 p.m.
