Groundbreaking set for UW Health Union Corners Clinic

MADISON- After three years of planning, UW Health will celebrate with a groundbreaking at the site of the Union Corners Clinic on Thursday, September 10 at 4:30 p.m. The clinic, at 2402 Winnebago Street, will replace the East Towne Clinic, including its urgent care services.

The LEED-certified building will offer urgent care, laboratory, imaging, health and nutrition education, a pharmacy, physical therapy and social services and mental-health care. General internal medicine, pediatrics and adolescent medicine and obstetrics and gynecology will be housed in the new clinic.

The innovative design will separate the front of the clinic from the back, which allows the team to work in close proximity and in private areas. The exam rooms are dual- access, allowing providers to enter from a separate door that is connected to the health care team’s private area. The private areas include huddle spaces for better team communications and efficiency.

The UW Health Union Corners Clinic will open in fall, 2016.
