Calling the proposed location for a new Milwaukee Bucks arena the “worst kept secret in Milwaukee,” Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce President Tim Sheehy predicted the new construction will be north of the team’s current Bradley Center home.
Speaking during an appearance on “UpFront with Mike Gousha,” Sheehy said the delay in details on the cost and funding of the project is due to the complexity of the arena plan.
Calling the new facility an investment that will “engender catalytic development,” Sheehy said arena supporters will need to publicly announce plans for funding the arena ahead of the Joint Finance Committee meetings that begin in mid-April. He expressed optimism at the likelihood of support among legislative leaders.
“What we need to do is get the leadership in the room to come up with a plan,” Sheehy said. “We need to move to the point where there is a visible plan that people see and you can start selling.”
