MILWAUKEE – February 12, 2014 – The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. (WHD)
is pleased to announce that Bruce G. Arnold and Frank A. Gumina have been named co-leaders
of the firm’s Health Care Law Team.
Arnold is a shareholder in WHD’s Milwaukee office, where he is a member of the firm’s
board of directors. For more than 30 years he has counseled clients in all aspects of the health
care industry, including hospital-physician strategic alignment (with a focus on clinical co-
management initiatives), payor agreements (from both the provider and payor perspectives),
health care joint ventures, multi-specialty clinics and individual or small-group physicians
practices, health maintenance organizations, independent practice associations, and limited

frequently called on to manage litigation affecting all aspects of health care with an emphasis
on the defense of providers before regulatory bodies, and the resolution of complex breach of
contract claims involving health care issues.
Arnold has been recognized many times for his contributions and achievement in law. He was
selected as a 2010 recipient of the Wisconsin Law Journal’s Leader in the Law Award; selected
for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in Health Care Law and Bankruptcy and
Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law since 2005; selected as one of the 75
Best Lawyers in Milwaukee by Milwaukee Magazine; named to the Wisconsin Super Lawyers
list since 2005; and rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell®.
Arnold received his B.S.B.A., summa cum laude, from Georgetown University, and his J.D., cum
laude, from The University of Michigan Law School.
Gumina is a shareholder in WHD’s Milwaukee office. For more than 20 years he has worked
with health care clients to develop effective and efficient strategies to meet business objectives.
While Gumina counsels and guides health care clients through a vast array of legal issues, his
primary focus is representing health care entities and physician groups in all facets of labor and employment law matters. He has extensive experience with numerous issues unique to
health care, such as physician contracts (including non-competition and compensation issues),
FMLA and ADA accommodation issues, caregiver background checks, wage and hour matters,
mandatory physician reporting under federal and Wisconsin law, mandatory vaccination policies,
health records and patient abandonment matters with departing physicians, use of independent
contractors, and OFCCP jurisdictional issues for affirmative action requirements.
Gumina is a frequent lecturer before employer groups and attorneys on topics relating to
employment and litigation concerns. He has been a guest labor and employment law presenter
at the State Bar of Wisconsin, Marquette University’s Law School and School of Business.
Gumina also presents tailored in-house programs to managers and supervisors of small and large
companies alike.
Gumina received his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, and his J.D., cum laude, from
Marquette University Law School.
“Bruce and Frank understand our client first focus,” said WHD’s Chief Executive Paul Eberle.
“Their extensive legal experience is invaluable to our Health Care Law Team as we move
forward addressing client needs and new developments in health care.”
