Rogers Memorial Hospital: Adds VP of operations for regional partial hospitalization programs

(Oconomowoc, Wis.) James E. Ledbetter, Ph.D., has joined the administrative leadership team at Rogers Memorial Hospital as the new vice president of operations for regional partial hospitalization programs (PHPs). Ledbetter’s primary responsibility is day-to-day operations, leading all aspects of regional intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and PHPs while working with medical leadership to assure high satisfaction for patients and their families.

Ledbetter’s hiring supports Rogers’ goal of providing greater access to care to meet the mental health needs of the communities it serves, Rogers plans to open Rogers Behavioral Health–Tampa Bay in late September, its first location outside of Wisconsin. Services will include an IOP and PHP focused on obsessive-compulsive disorder and related anxiety disorders. Additional locations in key metropolitan areas are in development.

“At first, my primary focus will be to assimilate and develop a more comprehensive understanding of the high-quality programs Rogers offers and the ways satellite clinics in key markets will complement these services,” Ledbetter said. “I have worked in Tampa and elsewhere and have an understanding of the needs in their communities and the valuable services Rogers can provide.”

Rogers Memorial Hospital CEO Paul Mueller said Ledbetter will be an asset to both the staff and patients. “Jim brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience with inpatient and partial hospitalization programming, including multi-site operations, as well as more than 12 years of experience as a corporate CEO. His knowledge of strategic markets and strong professional associations with key contacts and other providers in these areas will help us to continue to develop relationships and assure our patients the highest level of care.”

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Ledbetter holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in rehabilitation counseling. He also holds a doctorate from the University of South Carolina in counselor education, where he held one of his first leadership positions and was responsible for developing the University’s PHP. That program later served as training for psychiatric residents and psychology interns, along with a variety of other healthcare students and interns. While the program’s director, Ledbetter presented at conferences related to discharge planning all over the world and spent time at the Menninger Foundation, which developed one of the country’s first PHPs. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer and vice president of development at United Medical Corporation for Ten Broeck Healthcare/PremierCare in Windermere, Fla.
