Packers Heritage Trail Trolley Tours: Trolleys ready to roll for another season of football fun and history

Back for another season, “Packers Heritage Trail Trolley Tours” offer fans an entertaining look at Green Bay Football History.

The bright red trolleys are ready to hit the streets of Green Bay and the Packers Heritage Trail for another season, offering fans a glimpse into the origins and history of the most successful franchise in the NFL. Returning in July, Green Bay based C&M Presents, along with Nicolet National Bank, will again be bringing you the “Packers Heritage Trail Trolley Tours”.

Originating at the Resch Center, across from Nitschke Field, guests will depart the modern football era and take a trip back in time – before 13 World Championships, multiple MVP’s and a waiting list for game tickets. Guests will travel the “Packers Heritage Trail” on climate controlled trolleys visiting more than 22 stops while learning about the love affair that developed between a football team and its’ hometown.

This season, guests can choose from either the 90 minute “Original” Tour which tours the trail and stops for a few prime photo opportunities; or they can take the “Touchdown” Tour. New this year, the “Touchdown” Tour is a 2 hour and 15 minute trolley ride which follows the same route as the “Original” Tour but provides for two extended stops. The first is at the Neville Public Museum, where guests can take in the exhibit “Touchdown” featuring artifacts on loan from the Packers Hall of Fame while it is closed for renovation. The second stop is an extended visit at City Stadium where they will set foot on this legendary field and hear some in depth history while visiting the many plaques inside.

Other stops on the trail include Curly Lambeau’s Birthplace Home, the Packing Plant District and the train stations where the team departed from for their road trips. The tours were developed in cooperation with the Packers Heritage Trail Foundation and its’ founders Cliff and Shirley Christl.

Susan Broberg, owner of the trolley tours and tour guide, commented, “While travelling the Heritage Trail, guests will see football landmarks side by side with all the great local landmarks Green Bay has to showcase. It’s as much of a city tour as it is a football tour. It shows you Green Bay with a different set of eyes.” She continued, “The response from guests last year was wonderful. Almost everyone had a story to share about their connection to the Packers. We had many people who remembered attending games at City Stadium, getting autographs, selling programs – it was those stories that made each tour special!”

On teaming up with the Neville, Broberg said, “We are excited to team up with the Neville Public Museum to allow guests the opportunity to see the amazing items on display in the Touchdown Exhibit, including the Super Bowl trophies and an actual goal post from the original Hagemeister Park. They have items that the Hall of Fame has never displayed before – so it is a unique opportunity, and a great fit for our tours.”

Tours will begin on July 24 – the day of the Packers Shareholder Meeting – and run throughout training camp. They will also be offered on home game weekends while the weather is favorable. A complete list of tours and times can be found at www.candmpresents.com.

Tickets for the trolley tours go on sale June 27. They can be purchased through Ticketstar at www.ticketstaronline or (800) 895-0071. $1 from each ticket purchased will go toward the Packers Heritage Trail Foundation for maintenance and expansion of the trail.

Private trolley tours are also available for corporate or social outings. A step-on guide service for motor coach groups wanting to tour the Heritage Trail is also available. For pricing and availability of private tours, please contact C&M Presents at (920) 471-7951 or candmgb@att.net.
